Inclement Weather
Being that most lessons are held outdoors, they will be conducted weather permitting. Lessons may go on in reasonable amounts of rain and wind at the instructor’s discretion. Unfortunately, it is not safe for us, or your children, to swim during heavy rain or thunderstorms. Should weather worsen during the lesson period, the instructor and student will exit the pool and wait until conditions are safe to re-enter. Lessons interrupted by weather will not be rescheduled or refunded after the instructor arrives at the location where the lesson will take place. If this occurs, we can shift to an ‘on deck’ lesson. In the event of poor weather before a lesson period, you will be notified of cancellation prior to the start of the lesson. These lessons will be rescheduled at your discretion for a time and date that is mutually agreed on.
Cancellation
Our instructors mindfully place every lesson in their schedules. We understand that sometimes sickness and emergencies arise, but please notify us of any cancellations at least 24 hours before the lesson begins. Cancellations less than 24 hours before the lesson period may be subject to a charge of 25% of the lesson cost as instructors are unlikely to be able to book another lesson in its place. If the instructor is absent due to unforeseen circumstances, you will be notified promptly and a replacement instructor will be found, or the lessons will be rescheduled.
Payment
Parents/guardians will receive an invoice denoting the total cost of the lesson period. The lessons for each week are to be paid out at the conclusion of the first lesson, by either cash or e-transfer. Payment deferrals will not be permitted. Failure to compensate instructors by the end of the lesson will result in a late fee of $10 that will be added to the balance.
Refunds
Due to the nature of the service, lessons that have been completed cannot be returned, and once paid are non-refundable.
Liability
All instructors hold current certifications for lifeguarding and first aid. We will not assume responsibility for any accidental or intentional injury or illness during the lesson period. Parents that chose to leave the pool area during the lesson do so at their own discretion and at the discretion of their children.
